FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE MY DOG TO BE GROOMED?

The grooming process can take up to 3-4 hours depending on your pet’s coat, behavior, size and how often the dog is groomed.  Double coated breeds like Golden Retrievers require the process of deshedding and other breeds like poodles or other smaller dogs that require a full body trim is a timely process.  We make every effort to groom your dog in a timely and safe manner.

  • HOW WILL I BE CONTACTED WHEN MY DOG IS READY FOR PICKUP?

You will be contacted by text to the phone # you provided in your pet’s profile unless you specify otherwise during dropoff. We ask that you wait for our call or text to pick up your dog.  Calling or stopping in will only delay the groom, causing distraction for your pet, which in turn makes it more difficult and dangerous to complete the groom. Our staff cannot always answer your calls if we are handling your pet. Safety is our first priority.  Please allow the groomer to perform the groom in a safe, efficient manner.

  •  MY DOG DOES NOT GET ALONG WITH OTHER DOGS. DO YOU LET THE DOGS WALK AROUND AND PLAY TOGETHER?

No, we do not let the dogs run around the salon while grooming takes place.  Your dog is in an open top private suite or crate (for small dogs) when he/she is not on a grooming table with the groomer or in the tub with the bather.

  •   WHAT VACCINATIONS DO YOU REQUIRE MY PET TO HAVE?

We require the date of your dog’s last rabies vaccination.  Puppies that have not yet had their rabies vaccination needs to be provided at their next grooming visit.  We also accept rabies titers and medical waivers.

  • MY DOG EXPERIENCES ANXIETY DURING GROOMING, HOW DO YOU HANDLE THAT?

We make every effort to keep your dog comfortable and safe during the grooming process with gentle handling. If your dog is showing signs of biting ( for nail clipping or certain phases of the grooming) we may use a soft muzzle and then resume the grooming process after they have calmed or feel more comfortable.  We also recommend a natural calming supplement like The Happy Traveler or CBD to take the edge off  for them.
